Equipped for the Journey
One thing has become very clear to me over these past few days. We are all sailing into uncharted waters together! I feel led to share a brief devotion to help us all remember that we love and serve a Savior who is our firm foundation that will stand through any storm that comes our way.
Jesus has made it very clear to us that even in times of uncertainty He wants His peace to protect our hearts and minds.
Jesus reminds us of this truth in Matthew 6:25-27, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
The last couple of weeks have made it very clear that we have entered a season of uncertainty that is impacting people around the world. As believers we are privileged to know and worship our Father in heaven and in this passage Jesus reminds us that we are extremely valuable to God and He is watching over us.
In this season of uncertainty I want to encourage all of us to take time to pray and be in God’s Word. The news can feel overwhelming but it does not overwhelm God and He wants to equip us for the journey.
In Romans 8:28 we are reminded: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” We are not left to wonder if God uses all things. We as believers know He uses all things for the good of those who love Him. And this is as true today as when the Apostle Paul was inspired by God to write these words.
May God, who loves us beyond measure, guide us and give us strength for the journey ahead.
Blessings, Pastor Chad
