Motorcycle Ministry
We have an active motorcycle ministry here at Cross of Christ Church. We have groups of bikers who meet in small groups about every-other week. They study the bible, host "New Friends Dinners", plan rides and events, and fellowship together. We welcome bikers to check us out. You will fit right in wearing your leather and riding your bike. For the past 14 years we have hosted the "Blessing of the Bikes" (see below).
Motorcycle Ministry Update
As the sun is getting a little warmer, thoughts of getting my trusty friend out from the darks of the garage are also getting closer. Winter takes too long to pass, but fear not summer is here. The motorcycle ministry does kind of go dormant due to riding in the dead of winter, but we are still active, talking and planning for the up coming summer season.
I had the opportunity to travel to southern Ca. during the first week of March to get in touch with some other Black Sheep bikers ( around 300 ) for three days of fellowship, prayers, and the time to reflect on what we as Christian men & women need to do to reach out to other bikers to share the news of our lord. For me I was struck by how on the surface you meet some guy over six feet tall, full of tattoos and just about as scary as can be, and listen ( its good to do that some times ) to them tell their story of how God changed their lives & how God often puts people in their paths to change ones life. some times it is as simple as show up, shake hands, & listen.
We did several small break out sessions on building relationships with other bikers and how to look for their desire to talk to someone about God, but not really sure how to start the conversation. Or they may want some of what we have, that missing link, that inner peace that we may have.
As riding season draws near the Cross of Christ biker ministry & Black Sheep Harley Davidson for Christ ministry is looking at planning several rides, volunteering, and working on our outreach event with a small ride and shine show event. More details coming. The biker small group still meets two times a month for study and prayers ( never enough of those ), and fellowship. Not sure when we will be hosting the next new friends dinner, but all are welcome to come and share some grub with us.

2007 - 14th Annual "BLESSING OF THE BIKES"
"Motorcycle Sunday" was held this year at our new home located on the corner of Holyoke & 210th Street West in downtown Lakeville. It was a great time for all, although a little chilly.
Motorcycle Sunday
Blessing of the Bikes began in 1993 as an outreach event by the Cross of Christ Motorcycle Ministry. In 2005 we had over 500 bikes and about 1500 people to Lakeville, Minnesota to remember many veterans who have served our country and to celebrate and honor God.
Last year was the 8th year that all proceeds will be donated to the area Special Olympics team. Donations to Special Olympics can be made at the time of registration. To date, Blessing of the Bikes has raised over $19,000 for Special Olympics!
