Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was set aside so we could give thanks to God for blessings, so we could humble ourselves before him and confess our sins, so we could call to God to watch over the widows and orphans and those who are suffering and in mourning and ask God to heal our wounds and if it be Gods will to bring peace, harmony and tranquility to our nation.

The formal observance of Thanksgiving was created so we could pause, slow down and take time to be thankful to God.

The psalms our loaded with reminders of how important it is for us to constantly be giving thanks to God.

Thanksgiving to God is a natural outflow when we keep our relationship with him at the center of our lives. The challenge for us is the allure of the world is calling out to us constantly and if we don’t seek God’s strength to fight the battle it can easily distract us. Yet God is faithful, he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. He will provide a way out, we just need to seek him, and thank him for his grace and mercy and strength.
